Key Sermon Points:

1. Faith in a powerful God (vv 1- 2)
   1. Whoever trust in the Most High will find protection
   2. God is a place of safety of refuge
   3. He is a place of protection from our enemy
   4. Nothing can come to us unless it comes through God's hand first
   5. The key is to trust God
   6. Job had a high trust factor in God (Job 13:15)
   7. We must also have a high trust factor in God
   8. God is in control and anything that happens to us is because God allows it to happen
   9. Whatever he allows in our lives is by divine appointment (Romans 8:28)
   10. We don't know why we go through things
   11. The title of God, Most High, stresses his power as a sovereign ruler of the world
   12. We can expect to find God's strength and protection and can expect to draw closer to God under his divine care
   13. Sometimes God will wound us in order to carry us and to have the relationship that he desires to have with us
   14.  In our weakness, God's strength is made perfect
2. Favor from a Sovereign God (vv 3-13)
   1. God's sovereign love extends to every aspect of our life
   2. We don't know what God has for us, but we do know that if we are saved and living for the Lord, God shows us favor
   3. It's because of god's grace that we are here and because of his grace he shows us favor
   4. God will cover and protect us under his care
   5. As long as we are living the way that we should be living for God, then we don't have anything to worry about
   6. Sometimes we have to get in a situation where we can see him differently and god shows us favor
   7. God will deliver us from harm that is like a life-threatening plague
   8. Peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of a supernatural calm in the midst of trouble in which God studies and satisfies our hearts
   9.  It is God that brings us peace
3. God's promise of protection (vv 14 - 16)
   1. We can call upon the Lord and he will answer
   2. We serve a God that is right on time
   3. The Lord promises to rescue us from danger
   4. We have God's protection
   5. We don't have to fear evil for god is with us (Psalm 23:4)
