Key Sermon Points:

  1. True disciples follow Jesus no matter what
    1. In order to follow Jesus, we must have a relationship with Jesus
    2. We have to know Him for ourselves as Lord and Savior
    3. Jesus is the Way (Romans 10:9)
    4. They had genuine faith
    5. They had a genuine commitment to follow Jesus regardless of the circumstances
    6. The disciples followed Jesus into a storm
    7. God sometimes put us in a place so that we can see him like we have never seen him before
  2. They panicked in the storm
    1. Suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea and waves were covering the ship
    2. Some of them were fishermen that had seen storms
    3. Jesus was asleep during the storm
    4. Sometimes in life we have to call on Jesus
    5. We try to fix problems ourselves, but we find out that we can't do it
  3. They called on Jesus for help
    1. It's only when we call Jesus that it makes a difference
    2. Jesus calmed the storm
    3. The disciples then were no longer scared of the storm, but were scared of the One on the ship with them because they never saw that miracle before
    4. It's time to see Jesus in a different light
    5. It's only in the storm that we see Jesus in a different light
